Our Local Area
The north-west of Scotland is rich in history, legends, myth and magic… including the romantic story of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
The tiny village of Glenfinnan, a few miles west of Fort William on the shores of Loch Shiel is an important historical site commemorated today with a fine monument to the event in 1745 (see Bonnie Prince Charlie). It was also here that various of the Harry Potter films were made. Two different figures, certainly, but one wonderful landscape.
